Window Panel does not highlight new tab

I click on a link and a new Tab page opens and is the active tab but the previous selected tab is still highlighted in Window Panel, not the new one. Is there a setting I am missing?

@glowthian Use the New Tab + Button in the Window Panel; the one next to the New Window button.
The Window Panel highlights the selected tab, and not just the active tab.
