Limiting mail downloads

When linking to a new account Vivaldi wants to download all the messages on the server. there could be thousands of these. Would be useful to be able to tell it to just download e.g the last years worth. Otherwise takes way too long.

@iwaldner Why not just do it over night, or over lunch, if you know that there are a lot of messages?
If you do not download all messages, will you remember to download the rest, or if it was automated when would Vivaldi do it?
One way or another, all of the messages should be fetched at some point, which may take a while. I think you can still work while mails are downloaded, although there will be a performance hit.
How about a throttle control to decide how much priority is given to fetching messages?

Downloading only the messages from last month or year is good option if you have thousands of messages and don't want them to take space on your disk.
Outlook has similar option.
