@Ruarí
yeah #1 -
@Ruarí There is an error in the update dialog.
-
@pesala: Good catch. I fixed it now https://update.vivaldi.com/update/1.0/relnotes/snapshot/5.5.2770.3.html

Thanks for the new build!
Margins of the app after it has been minimized, then maximized are still broken.
-
@t0yz Confirmed, on Win10x64…
Strangely, old Win7x64 doesn't have that issue. -
@t0yz Same in internal 5.5, a known unfixed bug.
VB-90606 "Maximizing vivaldi from taskbar cuts off UI" - confirmed. -

Quick update -
[Calendar] Connecting an iCloud account detects hidden calendars (VB-90409)
Nice! Glad to see this fixed (relatively) quick! I'm glad iCloud account calendars are getting some more support. Now all that's missing is to get Vivaldi to detect the account on its own instead of necessitating a dull and tedious method.
-
@AltCode Actually, it seems like Vivaldi still detects two calendars that should probably be hidden as well:
- A "Reminders
⚠️
" calendar (yes with the⚠️
icon at the end), which is not seen anywhere in the macOS/iOS calendar app. - A second "dummy" family sharing calendar that confusingly has the same name as the real family sharing calendar, as well as a remarkably similar color to it, but none of its events.
EDIT: In any case, I've reported this as a new bug (VB-91123). I still don't understand what counts towards getting a bug report reopened, all my previous attempts so far don't seem to get them reopened (i.e. sending a new email to the existing bug report).
- A "Reminders

@t0yz: Not listed in Changelog, from what I see, so shouldn't expect to see the fix.

@Ruarí - I'm glad to see this snapshot (apparently) fixes the Windows 7 border issue. But every time I start Vivaldi, the window does a hard pop-up, and so the opening window animation is practically nonexistent. I hope this isn't how the developers will leave it and "call it a day." At least the Windows 7 border isn't showing up anymore. That's progress. Hope to see the opening animation make a proper comeback in the final 5.5 release. Thanks.

Thank you
Very nice -
@t0yz: Same here on Win11 64
-
@herrschreiberbeivivaldi Yes, it is a known Vivaldi 5.5 on Windows issue.

[New][Mail] Use MX record for detection of mail server hostname (VB-43329)
[Mail] Import from Thunderbird stops on 2nd account (VB-90803)Time for another test import of my wife's Thunderbird database (always have mail missing from one account (could be the second one...) and trouble getting accounts to connect afterwards).

I'm using Vivaldi on Fedora 36, and it has a lot of problem when running in a wayland session. Keyboard is stuttering when I type and I get a lot of black windows (vivaldi content flashes black).
Everything works great in a xorg session (or on windows) otherwise. Thanks for this new snapshot.

@mathieu62 Yes, with Vivaldi on some Linux wayland & hardware accelleration & graphics driver can have trouble.
That's why i use Xorg on my Linux office and workstation.
