Vivaldi build channels
-
Hi everybody. This is my first topic. Can't find the following info: I'd like to know how many Vivaldi build channels are available and the difference among them. Thanks.
-
I believe there are:
- Release (stable and available for general use)
- Auto update only to next available Release
- Beta (stable-ish and available for those who want to explore new features etc.)
- Auto update to next Beta and/or Release
- Snapshots (new feature introduction, may have bugs/regressions. Available for those willing to "take the risk")
- Auto update to next snapshot (might not update to Beta or Release if no fixes added from latest snapshot)
-
Thanks!
I found the stable and snapshot downloads for Windows, but no beta.
It seems Ubuntu has all versions in his repository, I need to check.
I'm interested in Vivaldi, and being a developer, is always a good idea to have all versions installed.

Beta doesn't seem to be a formal separate stream. It was just stages on the way to stable. The official streams at this time are stable and snapshot.

Maybe in the next version, they'll make a formal Beta stream. 1.1 was just a minor version to release with the new Chromium 50. Wonder if 1.2 will be the next one.

The next stable will be 1.1 Stable. Hard to say when the next Beta, if any, might be. As long as there are stable releases, the snapshots can probably do the job of both Developer and Beta - especially while the crew is this small.

Thanks everybody, I have now a better understanding of this matter.
