Mail Notifications in Windows SysTray
-
For the built-in email client, I can see the unread email count in the side panel (when I have it showing) and in the bottom status bar (which I don't usually have showing).
But there are two important places where the unread count does NOT show:
- On the email tab in the browser (I have 'detect page title notifications' turned on, but there is no count in the page title for the built-in email).
- More and most importantly, there is no Vivaldi icon in the Windows system tray, where I would expect it to at least appear when there are emails waiting to be read (though I would think for any tab notifications).
#2 is going to be a deal breaker for me, as I spend my day working on desktop apps that are outside my browser and my clients often expect timely email response from me. It would be ultra unproductive for me to constantly check my browser every few minutes.
I have mail notifications enabled in Vivaldi's setup, as well as 'play sound'. I unfortunately don't get any sound alerts either (though the sound does work for the Vivaldi calendar alerts).

Tray notification is for me the most wanted feature yes.
And i also don't get any sound on new mail in vivaldi. -
