In-app timer notifications
-
Hi,
I love that Vivaldi has its own timer and alarm feature, but a few improvements could be made. For example when my timer reaches 0, it displays in the status bar as 'Now'. The actual notification comes a few - sometimes more than 10 - seconds after it initially reached 0.
The notification also doesn't show once, but once for every Vivaldi window you have open. See this and this thread for more details.
A feature that I think would solve both of these issues is built-in notifications. This way Vivaldi doesn't have to rely on Windows' notification service, fixing this as well.
Using custom notifications allows the user to set them up to their liking. For example how long they should stay on screen, adding a 'snooze' button, setting the duration of snoozing etc. After all, customization is what makes Vivaldi such an appealing browser. I'm sure Vivaldi devs can figure out a way to make the notifications take it up a notch compared to Windows' notifications.
Edit:
I just wanna add a quick link to another timer-related thread. It's a concept design of a new timer UI that I really love.
