The lateral panel has been almost completely hided and unaccessible for about 5 upgrades now
-
The lateral panel isn't almost completely reachble by the mouse, and then it makes extremely difficult to select, add or close any tab. This bug is present since at least 5 upgrades, and even after my last signaling to the Vivaldi team of the issue, after the new today's upgrade, this bug hasn't been touched.
I'm just tired of using this browser.
Any suggestion or explaination?Vivaldi team, wanna wake up?
-
@Gabriele94 Since you have not reported the issue that you see on this forum before, how would the team know what it is?
Perhaps no one else can reproduce it?
What do you mean by the lateral panel?
-
Hello @Pesala ! I don't know if you are part of the team or just of community, but let me explain me better:
I have reported this bug via the form offered by Vivaldi, whose after the today's upgrade, I'm any more able to find out. And for this reason, i've verged here, on the "vivaldi's community".
As said, I carefully reported the bug, yet after many upgrades that Didn't change back the bug, not, yet, prestinely after the bug presented. No answer followed, and the bug is here after the upgradeNTH.
With 'panel' I mean that string, or stream, (sorry, my english isn't fluid) that (at least, I) have on my left, (you could have upward? Downward?) taht contains the websites tabs. When I linger my mouse on those, the tabs are very impossible to click (the mouse is like unresponding to them... like if it were the interface's wallpaper!!) SAVE for one slender millimiter, actually clickable. It is bothering, and frustrating... MOSTLY after al least 5 upgrades.
I have the Italian version of Vivaldi, and use it since at least 2 years. But wanna get this bug resolved! And it's annoying, furthermore, that the staff (Dunno, really, if corresponds to y'all!) not only hasn't given me feedbacks, but hasn't neighter resolved, eighter spontaneously, and after my signaling.
Do you figure out what the problem is about? Did I make myself explainful? Tell me further more question Pesala, and thank you! -

You reported to bug tracker?
Which VB-xxxxx bug number did you have got by mail? -
@Gabriele94 Seems we have different words for parts of browser.
Please make a screenshot and upload here with the upload button (right in this reply window).
It is easier to know what you mean. -
Yeah I did! I did it via the only (i guess!) form it was disponible from Vivaldi to report bugs.
Sorry, I didn't get the question. On my emails history I don't even find one email sent, or received, by Vivaldi's team. Maybe I shall check it out via some tool here present... -
@Gabriele94 I guess you did not read the text at the top of the bug report form. It is important to avoid overloading the small Vivaldi Team with duplicates or invalid reports.
Report a Bug
Please ask on the Forum first, if someone else can reproduce the bug.
Need help? Read our guidelines on how to report bugs and how to report crashes. -

Here it is, DoctorG.

@Gabriele94 I can not find your username in bug tracker and can not imagine what you wrote in tracker report.
Please redo report bug to Vivaldi tracker
-
@Gabriele94 Thanks for image.
-
@DoctorG You're very welcome DoctorG, and thank you too!
Alright, I'll do anew the report, and hope for the better. Thanks a LOT. -
@Gabriele94 Which Vivaldi version do you use on which Windows?
I remembered a older bug where the tab bar at left could get too small.I do not know which settings you have set for Settings → Tabs and Settings → Panel.
-
@Gabriele94 To get rid of this bug, please open new window with Ctrl+N, there you can resize the tab bar by mouse.
The issue will be fixed in next 5.3 version.
But was VB-89252 "Misrendered interface of the lateral panel of websites tabs [second try asking]" - Confirmed.
-
Actually it's not, DoctorG... It's very not changeable the "volume" of the interface (the white wallpaper interface.. to get to understand each others) on the new browser's window opened via ctrl+N.
This might be more helpful and exlpainingful: it is not, very, the PANEL to be restricted: it, more convincingly, be the wallpaper to 'cover' and spill over the panel to get it to be unclickable. So... in a phrase: the problem wouldn't seem to be present in the panel itself, but in the wallpaper - as I can assume. Now I've done and accomplished the reporting signaling... I'm SO grateful to y'all for the dedication and kindness. It was obnoxious to continue with this issue again, and again... since months (!).
Hope to tune up anew soon, let's say in contact for any things to come again.
Again, thanks all truthfully, (from Italy).
-
@DoctorG , I'm discombombulated and happy.
You have... well, not Resolved, but actually resolved my bug !!!
Lemme explain it: I dind't actyally go in the TABS setting, even if I tried something else to fumble to get the thing stright back. Well... I simply have done as You've said, and I've been able to move the panel... yes, from left to right. Apart from upward and downward. And the bug isn't present there. (!!!!!!!!!)
But, yet, the bug still's present biding on the left, so technically there is a problem for Vivaldi. (But. practically speaking, not for me, any more !!!)Thank you a lot for this stumbling upon the solution, which could call: serendipity.
See u next time, or not again, bcs of a new bug! Bye!

@Gabriele94 For me Settings → Tab → Tab BAR Position → Right, resize width, Settings → Tab → Tab Bar Position → Left helped to get the resize back.
