Quick Command to toggle Javascript
-
Is there a a way to add Quick Command for toggling Javascript on and off?
-
Good to hear, some sites just work better with it switched off.

IMO, it would make sense to have a toggle button right next to the "Show Images" button.

While we wait for a button to be implemented; I installed "Script Blocker for Chrome", you can block/allow all scripts on a page in two clicks and there's site whitelist/blacklist. There's other similar extensions as well, I just picked one that's fast and easy to use.

do i get this right, there is still no button for one of the most important options there is???

@schreck I currently use the ScriptSafe extension for this, though it's certainly a bit more cumbersome than a simple toolbar toggle button. Clicking the active ScriptSafe extension button in Vivaldi offers a Disable function which in turn, when clicked, offers a range of timers (including "forever") to be clicked, which must naturally be followed by a page reload. Re-enabling JS-blocking involves simply clicking the ScriptSafe button and merely clicking Enable. (Of course, none of this addresses the other various features of ScriptSafe that are not relevant for what you're asking). For me, the extension is still better than boring into the bowels of Vivaldi internal settings each time.

This would be a cool mod. But I have no idea how to do it

@Gwen-Dragon said in Quick Command to toggle Javascript:
But shortcuts for disabling JS are planned.
3years later..

@schreck This kind of feedback is not useful to anyone.
The developers know that there are a lot of things to do. There are about 1,530 feature requests in addition to fixing bugs, keeping Chromium up to date, creating a Mobile version, and email client.
