H.264 & AAC update failure [bug]
-
Hey everyone. New here, and still kind of new to Vivaldi. I'm working on Raspbian Buster on a Raspberry Pi 4b 8G Just one problem though. Every time I open a new browser with Vivaldi (when I close the browser and reopen it) I am greeted by the speed dial page as well as this popup:
When I click on the info link it provides nothing but a test link for a flash image or whatever and it tells me that it could be a problem with Widevine.
There is no solution that worked for me on that link (at the very least there was nothing that I can use as a possible solution to this problem). I then tried to go to the Vivaldi components page to ensure that Widevine was up to date but when I clicked on "check for update" nothing happened, and nothing changed. my next step was to try to manually update ffmpeg & widevine through the terminal via: 'sudo /opt/vivaldi/update-ffmpeg' & '/opt/vivaldi/update-widevine'. but to my dismay, those solutions did not work either. I then found and tried this:
(on this article: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/42273/solved-html5-codecs-again) this solution also failed.
. I have no scripting knowledge so as far as any scripts that I might have to edit/add or remove & I get confused really easily - so I chose not to mess with anything scripting wise. There is a Vivaldi discord where I initially asked for support (https://discord.com/invite/cs6bTDU), but I was directed to go here and ask instead. So here I am on the forums reporting this bug to the community in hopes that there is somebody out there who knows a step-by-step solution towards getting this resolved or if Ruari himself can find a solution and resolve it in a future update. If you have read up to this point - I commend you and thank you for your time.

The bug didn't occur for me until I changed from RPiOS x32 to x64 on the same machine (different SD). Vivaldi on an x32 SD continues to work properly.
Which OS are you running?

The popup opens on startup for me too. Not on Raspberry Pi, but on the Asahi Linux alpha release (still ARM64 though).

Hi, do you have update-ffmpeg and update-widewine in your /opt/vivaldi* directory?
For widewine you can open vivaldi://components and try to update from there. I guess ffmpeg is updated with it, too.Cheers, mib

I didn't actually have a /opt/vivaldi direrectory. I made one just in case it fixes the problem, but as expected it doesn't because it's empty.

I went to vivaldi://components and clicked "Check for update" under the only thing with Widevine in its name ("Widevine Content Decryption Module - Version: 0.0.0.0", Status - Up-to-date). All that did was change "Up-to-date" to say "Component not updated".
