Vivaldi crash with kernel corrupted page table

  • Vivaldi locks up often for reasons unknown. I haven't found why yet, though. When it happens, I see a dump in dmesg:
[ 671.719154] vivaldi-bin: Corrupted page table at address 5627d6ad0b90 [ 671.719181] PGD 40a388067 PUD 40a389067 PMD 4062e9067 PTE 4000431381025 [ 671.719210] Bad pagetable: 001d [#1] SMP [ 671.719227] Modules linked in: rfcomm fuse cmac xt_CHECKSUM ipt_MASQUERADE nf_nat_masquerade_ipv4 tun ccm nf_conntrack_netbios_ns nf_conntrack_broadcast ip6t_rpfilter ip6t_REJECT nf_reject_ipv6 xt_conntrack ip_set nfnetlink ebtable_broute bridge stp llc ebtable_nat ebtable_filter ebtables ip6table_raw ip6table_nat nf_conntrack_ipv6 nf_defrag_ipv6 nf_nat_ipv6 ip6table_security ip6table_mangle ip6table_filter ip6_tables iptable_raw iptable_nat nf_conntrack_ipv4 nf_defrag_ipv4 nf_nat_ipv4 nf_nat nf_conntrack iptable_security iptable_mangle bnep arc4 intel_rapl iosf_mbi x86_pkg_temp_thermal coretemp kvm_intel kvm iwlmvm mac80211 irqbypass snd_hda_codec_realtek snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hda_codec_generic iTCO_wdt uvcvideo iTCO_vendor_support snd_hda_intel iwlwifi snd_hda_codec videobuf2_vmalloc videobuf2_memops [ 671.719500] cfg80211 i2c_i801 videobuf2_v4l2 joydev btusb snd_hda_core btrtl snd_hwdep btbcm btintel videobuf2_core snd_seq bluetooth v4l2_common videodev snd_seq_device lpc_ich snd_pcm media snd_timer mei_me thinkpad_acpi ie31200_edac mei shpchp edac_core snd soundcore rfkill tpm_tis tpm nfsd auth_rpcgss nfs_acl lockd grace sunrpc xfs libcrc32c dm_crypt nouveau i915 mxm_wmi ttm i2c_algo_bit drm_kms_helper crct10dif_pclmul crc32_pclmul crc32c_intel drm sdhci_pci e1000e sdhci serio_raw mmc_core ptp pps_core wmi fjes video [ 671.719716] CPU: 6 PID: 3283 Comm: vivaldi-bin Not tainted 4.4.6-301.fc23.x86_64 #1 [ 671.719738] Hardware name: LENOVO 20EGS0R602/20EGS0R602, BIOS GNET71WW (2.19 ) 02/05/2015 [ 671.719761] task: ffff8804064b3c00 ti: ffff880414730000 task.ti: ffff880414730000 [ 671.719782] RIP: 0033:[<00005627d6ad0b90>] [<00005627d6ad0b90>] 0x5627d6ad0b90 [ 671.719804] RSP: 002b:00007ffecd5d1028 EFLAGS: 00010206 [ 671.719820] RAX: 00005627d6ad0b90 RBX: 0000020035f74100 RCX: 0000000000000008 [ 671.719839] RDX: 000000000000033f RSI: 00007ffecd5d15a0 RDI: 0000020035f74100 [ 671.719858] RBP: 0000000000000000 R08: 0000020036d9e740 R09: 0000000000000000 [ 671.719877] R10: 0000000000000000 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: 00007ffecd5d10b8 [ 671.719896] R13: 0000000000000200 R14: 00007ffecd5d15a0 R15: 00007ffecd5d10d0 [ 671.719916] FS: 00007fc176e52a80(0000) GS:ffff88047e380000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 [ 671.719938] CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 [ 671.719953] CR2: 00005627d6ad0b90 CR3: 00000004064f9000 CR4: 00000000001406e0 [ 671.719977] RIP [<00005627d6ad0b90>] 0x5627d6ad0b90 [ 671.719992] RSP <00007ffecd5d1028> [ 671.726628] ---[ end trace 4bca073cc0cbe7d7 ]---
Version info:
[dmsimard@hostname ~]$ uname -a Linux hostname 4.4.6-301.fc23.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Mar 30 16:43:58 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux [dmsimard@hostname ~]$ cat /etc/os-release NAME=Fedora VERSION="23 (Workstation Edition)" ID=fedora VERSION_ID=23 PRETTY_NAME="Fedora 23 (Workstation Edition)" ANSI_COLOR="0;34" CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:fedoraproject:fedora:23" HOME_URL="" BUG_REPORT_URL="" REDHAT_BUGZILLA_PRODUCT="Fedora" REDHAT_BUGZILLA_PRODUCT_VERSION=23 REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT="Fedora" REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT_VERSION=23 PRIVACY_POLICY_URL= VARIANT="Workstation Edition" VARIANT_ID=workstation [dmsimard@hostname ~]$ rpm -qa |grep vivaldi vivaldi-stable-1.0.435.42-1.x86_64
I myself cant test because having only Debian 8 and Ubuntu 14.

Please try the current Latest Snapshot from

If these crashes dont go away, please report that as a bug to
and dont forget give us as much information as you can.
And you can reply to the mail sent back to you from our bugtracker and attach more information. That information will go into the correct bug. You may be contacted by a tester (like me 😉 ) or a developer for more questions.
