New guide makes it easier to understand Chrome's privacy settings
Google is working to highlight the existing privacy control feature in its popular Chrome browser this week with the release of a new step-by-step guide to the browser's privacy settings.I imagine it does not take much effort to write "Negligible".
"Developed at the Google Safety Engineering Center (GSEC)(opens in new tab), Privacy Guide is a step-by-step guided tour of some existing privacy and security controls in Chrome — so you can manage and make the right privacy selections for you in one spot," Audrey An, Google's Product Manager for Chrome, said in a statement.
Oh they really are taking the piss now.

Google, concerned about privacy. Think about that for a while.

@paul1149 Picoseconds is sufficient.

@guigirl Remember when we used to say, "Google is your friend"? The heady days.

I didn't realize chrome had "privacy settings".
They just put in a UI with no code behind it. -
@greybeard , maybe they have some basic settings, but I think that they blieve that 80% of Chrome users also use Google for the search. With this the privacy settings in Chrome results irrelevant if they are real or a publicity gag. Adding to this that the whole world use Android phones, which are directly spyware.
Google has it tied up and well tied up to profile users with the plethora of services it offers.
Anyone with an account on any of these services can take a look at the dashboard, to know that Google can perfectly write your Curriculum Vitae in great detail.
