Vivaldi Mail and Proton Bridge
[Note] Since Vivaldi does not support STARTTLS for IMAP (due to security issues with STARTTLS), you need to set Proton Bridge to SSL mode
- Go to Proton Bridge advanced settings and set both connections to
SSLand export thecert.pemsomewhere. - Open
chrome://settings/certificatesand import thecert.peminto theAuthoritiestab. Accept all checkboxes. - Restart Vivaldi and Proton Bridge.
- Re-enter the username and password from Proton Bridge and it should work.

Hi tr3k,
I've generated the certificates but when I go to vivaldi://settings/cerfificates there is no Authorities tab.
There is Security and Privacy > Security > Manage Certificates.
Or if I go to chrome://settings/certificates I end up at vivaldi://settings
I'm none the wiser as to where the cert.pem gets installed.....
Any advice? I'm using MACOS 13.4.1 on an M1 Macbook Air. -
Has anyone actually managed to get Proton Mail working in Vivaldi on an M1/M2 Mac?
I've looked at all the answers so far and when I get to vivaldi://settings/privacy/ > Security > Manage Certificates, I end up in Keychain Access.
I have no idea what to do next....
Anyone??

@qutib Thank you. This worked for me. I did get an error message from PM Bridge that my the client used an invalid password, but within 2 minutes I received all my PM emails. Thanks again.

When in the menu for adding an account to Vivaldi mail there is now the logo of Protonmail besides Google, Outlook, Fastmail etc. Has it always been there or has it been recently added?

Recent, see Improved browser features for desktop and Vivaldi Mail 2.0 amped up with new functionalities | Vivaldi Browser where it states:

@yojimbo274064400 Right, still no luck for me in getting Protonmail set up in Vivaldi mail client though, I'm getting the same errors. I was hoping something had changed or improved. On Linux.

@ConatusPrinciple, from its limited description resolution of VB-106347 was unlikely to address that issue.
FWIW not sure how displaying a group of vendor emblems before knowing which vendor account is being setup resolved VB-106347. Hopefully someone knowledgeable will explain.

6.8.3381.46 (Stable channel) (arm64)currently and eventually managed to import the Proton Mail Bridge certificate in a way Vivaldi would accept it.I chose
Configure email clientfrom the main screen of Proton Mail Bridge app and then choseApple Mailas the email client. First thing that should happen is Proton Mail Bridge suggesting to import the certificate. A similar dialog should appear like in their support article. I canceled the installation and didn't install the profile. I restarted Vivaldi and managed to connect tolocalhostsuccessfully. -
Every time i try to link my account, i have to enter it manually and i enter the correct details and password but it still cant connect because the server
"timed out"Can someone help me figure out how to connect my account?
