@thequantumalpha Is there a reason why you don't want to simply add it yourself?

@ayespy Mobile vivaldi doesn't allow custom search engines. I would like to add brave, especially now duckduckgo have said they are actively applying their own bias into the search results. I am considering shelving vivaldi until I can as I am keen to avoid using big tech.

So an upvote for OP's suggestion (and the addition of Brave). Even better would be to allow users to add a search engine just like the desktop version.

@shrapnull Custom engines should be the goal, in the best case scenario simply synced with all other devices. There’s a feature request out for it already, this specific request, however, has little chance.

@luetage Oh yes syncing the search engines would be so handy & it seems a strange oversight. Adding any search engine like you say is the gold standard IMO.

@ayespy I will be glad if you will kindly show me how to add a custom search engine on Vivaldi for Android, since my cognitive and logic abilities have yet to find this feature in Vivaldi.
I can with certainty confirm to be thoroughly certain that this does not currently exist.

I found your answer rather curt and discourteous, allow me to point out.

@thequantumalpha I failed to notice this was the Mobile category.

Android can't do custom search engines yet.

@ayespy TheQuantumAlpha knows this, they are just rubbing it in because they are petty. I post desktop advice for mobile regularly, happens all the time…

We're aiming to implement customizable search engines, so I'm closing this.
