The fix (VB-86756) came a bit late for our planned update yesterday but it was kind of a nasty bug that one, so we decided it better to do another update than leave it bothering you.

It's strange, I seem to never get "bothered" by these issues - or even notice them, guess media playing in browsers just ain't my thang
-
@pathduck That is good but we have certainly had reports and there was clearly an issue there. Just a shame that we worked it out around the time the last update was going out. And we could not really delay that one because it had a fix for a zero day.

Check for updates does not find the build 5.1.2567.49 yet. 5.1.2567.46 is the latest version.

@pesala: Ah yes… I did forget to push a button. Thanks!

Wow more than 1 stable minor update a week -

Nightly for Stable and Weekly for Snapshot?

With each release, I'm hopeful for the end of these constant "dead bird" tabs that open up when I open a link in a new tab. And the cases where I type in a URL and press enter, and then nothing happens except for the URL being wiped out, and I have to repeat the process.
-
@wicketr: What platform (OS) are you on and if Linux which distro?
-
Windows 10 Enterprise. It's a company computer with McAfee crap, so not sure if that factors into it, but Chrome doesn't have the issue. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
Edit: And yes, the problem still exists with this release
-
This build crashes every time I click a textbox in my DD-WRT config page Its a regression, with 5.1 Update 1 this problem didn't exist. It doesn't happen on any textbox though, but with one box it crashes everytime, 100% repeatable.
-
@colebantam Yes, a regression and confirmed bug, but not all users suffer from this issue.
Please send a crashdump to Vivaldi bug tracker. ⇒ Linux, Windows and Mac
Perhaps this workaround helps:
- Open vivaldi://flags/#show-autofill-type-predictions
- Set to Enabled
- Restart
- Open vivaldi://flags/#show-autofill-type-predictions
- Set to Disabled
- Restart
-
@doctorg: changing the "show-autofill-type-predictions" option once solved the problem Now I can set any three options and no crashes anymore.
I have three crashdumps from that issue that I can send, but I don't think open a new bugreport is best, when its already a known bug? Can I send the dumps on an other way?

I think this is a regression, resulting from new Chromium core in Vivaldi. Please create a new report and send crash dump in report, the Vivald devs will link to existing report if it is a duplicate or a related bug.

@doctorg: Done -> VB-86829
-
@wicketr: Same happens to me as well. Using Ubuntu 21.10 and this issue started a few weeks ago (probably sometime in 2022, not sure).
It does happen only for one of two profiles I'm using in Vivaldi while the other one seems bug free. When I open Guest window it sometimes happen as well.
