If you guys could implement some sort of Tagging/Folder (Tagging is better, with support for multiple tags) to sort the items, AND add Reading List to the Start Page (with the Bookmarks, History, Notes, Calendar), with columns to sort for Tags/Date Created...

I WOULD LOVE this feature SO MUCH.

      😃

I would love this as well - Personally, I prefer folders. Tags would be useful addition as well.

        Cheers,

              Folders = Bookmarks

One idea along that line would be to rethink the Reading List as just a different view into bookmarks. You could select one or more paths in the bookmark tree to display in the Reading List and preserve the ordering, subfolders, renaming, etc. that bookmarks already implement.

What are the features that the Reading List pane should provide that Bookmarks doesn't already? IMO it's single click add/remove, the read indicator and the date ordering although that could also be better implemented - display when the list entry was added (eg. "2d ago") and perhaps include options for how the read but not yet deleted entries get sorted.

Just throwing some thoughts out there, cheers!

@barbudo2005 I would like the address bar drop-down menu to show bookmarks but not reading list items. If I use bookmarks as a replacement for "reading list with folders", then reading list items start polluting the address bar dropdown menu.

The best workaround I can find so far for "reading list with folders" is, strangely enough, Sessions. Of course there's the main issue that one cannot add more tabs to a session without opening it, but otherwise if the list is pretty much stable (unlikely that I will have more tabs to add to it), then sessions pretty much solve the folder issue using stacks, and the "Exclude" feature works as a decent manual replacement for "read" (perhaps even better if one prefers to manually tick read items).

I wholeheartedly support this request. Yes, bookmarks has folders. But then what's the added benefit of a reading list if you use bookmarks?

For me it's the option to not see them in the drop down menu, as mentioned before. But dozens of webpages in my "reading list" folder would become too chaotic if I just put them all in the reading list.

                    CONCEPTS:

                    BOOKMARKS:

                    1.- Long term: Months, years.
                    2.- Many: Hundreds, thousands
3.- Folders: Necessary since separation by subject is required, including subfolders and separators.
4.- Title: Editable to be remembered

                    READING LIST:

1.- Short term: Days, 1 or 2 weeks max. Deleted after reading
                    2.- Few: Between 10 and 20 max.
                    3.- Folders: Not necessary
                    4.- Title: Same

Okay that's nice, good that that works for you. But not everyone uses the reading list and bookmarks the way you do. Here's my concept:

                      Bookmarks:

                      • Few dozen sites
                      • Used often, that's why it's nice when they show up in address bar suggestions

                      Reading list:

                      • Could be hundreds of sites
                      • Not used often, only when you need it
                      • Annoying af when they clutter up your address bar suggestions

That is not MY concept. That's how it's been designed from the beginning.

You're using it backwards, that's why it doesn't work for you.

You are not going to change it with your requests. Accept it as it should be or it's your problem.

If you don't like a certain suggestion, you can just ignore it. Good for you that you know "the proper way" to use a browser, but others prefer to use it differently. If multiple people would like to see a change, they're free to suggest that. No need to get angry over that.

Of course, you are free to suggest it. Where did I say otherwise?

How could I get angry if I don't have the problem.

@barbudo2005 I was agreeing to your concept till about the folders on Reading List. I think for organization, Folders/Tag is necessary. I use the bookmark for this is not the same because as you said the bookmarks is a long term feature and the RL even for a temporary propose, a better organization for its items would make easier to find what I saved to check later and finish it.
