Solved Invalid key for repo vivaldi stable
-
From today again
Error: https://repo.vivaldi.com/stable/deb stable Release.gpg
The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG FEB6023DC27AA466 Vivaldi Package Composer KEY07 [email protected] -
@ambroz09 Which Vivaldi version had you before?
How had you installed Vivaldi before?
How had you added the repo?
With which program was the update started? By shell with apt?
Which Linux?
My vivaldi.list:
test@deb:/etc/apt/sources.list.d$ cat vivaldi.list ### THIS FILE IS AUTOMATICALLY CONFIGURED ### # You may comment out this entry, but any other modifications may be lost. deb [arch=amd64] https://repo.vivaldi.com/stable/deb/ stable main
vivaldi-stable 5.3.2679.70-1 → 5.5.2805.38-1 works nice for me on Debian 11.5, Ubuntu 22 LTS and Mint 21.
Please show list of Vivaldi's keys with
apt-key list|grep vivaldi
$ apt-key list|grep vivaldi Warning: apt-key is deprecated. Manage keyring files in trusted.gpg.d instead (see apt-key(8)). /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/vivaldi-4218647E.gpg uid [ unbekannt ] Vivaldi Package Composer KEY08 <[email protected]> /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/vivaldi-C27AA466.gpg uid [ unbekannt ] Vivaldi Package Composer KEY07 <[email protected]>

@trumpeti100 Which Linux?
-
Can you try again?
sudo apt clean sudo apt update sudo apt install vivaldi-stable
-
@trumpeti100 One of Vivaldi server admins cleared cache of download servers. Seems it helped.
-
@DoctorG I apologize for answering late. I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.1, Vivaldi installed before with gdebi -i [original_from_vivaldi_site].deb. Updated with apt.
As @trumpeti100 reports, I confirm that the issue has been resolved.
Thank you for your quick help, much obliged.

@jumpsq Update message issue solved as per Vivaldi 6.6, updated in a Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia pc.
Yours is a simple and working solution: No need to edit or to delete files.
I did as the following
Note: in my system public key was "KEY09"Step 1
sudo wget https://repo.vivaldi.com/stable/linux_signing_key.pub
Step 2
sudo gpg --import linux_signing_key.pub
Verification:
Optional, but I did the checking as presented by @ruarí, and they were ok (with KEY9).Step 3
sudo wget -qO- https://repo.vivaldi.com/archive/linux_signing_key.pub | gpg --dearmor | sudo dd of=/usr/share/keyrings/vivaldi-browser.gpg
Thanks to all of you

@fourier fetching the GPG key? Your advice is outdated and not needed.

@DoctorG
Funny, I just have installed manually v6.6 60 minuts ago, as per your URL, just to have the very same 'NO_PUBKEY 124F149833EAAB8EE Error', as has been usual for the last 6 months. Doing theses updates as per your URL.Therefore, today, tired of this benign error/bug for 6 months, I re-searched the web and found encore another topic page, and compiled and applied the aforementioned 3 steps, that solved, both with apt or by GUI update interface, the issue. SOLVED, first time in 6 months.
II is not my first time looking for a simple solution for a running production computer in this issue. There are 4-6 topics focussing this issue, but only one explaining how to solve it. I'm an old Linux user, and my old configuration versions are carrying issues.

Such can happen. We are getting older and our PCs, too - same as i do
But in such case it is easier to uninstall (purge with apt) all Vivaldi, remove all apt config/gpg keys for Vivaldi, download the deb package and reinstall with dpkg. That fixes apt issues and you get the good configuration as it is proposed by Vivaldi Linux team.
