Lost functionality in the Window Panel (session save, hibernated icon), open session with stack in current window
-
Hi,
at some point in time (last few months) the window panel lost two features and I wonder if I am the only one having this problem or it hits others as well. Also noticed one regression with opening from a saved session.
The issues:
-
when trying to save as a session a set of tabs selected on the window panel, the session save contains all the tabs and not only the tabs selected on the panel. Does not matter if I pick up a list of tabs or a stack of tabs, always getting saved all the tabs in the session save. Previously it worked like a breeze. Now to save to a session only selected tabs I need to pick them up from the Tab Bar - it is a major invonvenience when you have many tabs opened. Even on the Tab Bar I cannot simply choose a stack of tabs to save it as a session - I need to go into the stack and select the tabs manually within the stack.
-
Hibernated tabs were presented with dimmed icon and could be easily distinguished from tabs that are not hibernated. The icon of the hibernated tab still gets dimmed on the Tab Bar, but no longer on the Window Panel. It is annoying when you are on a poor machine with limited resources while must work on many tabs.

when doing 'open saved session' with option to open in the current window, any tabs that were saved under a tab stack do not get opened. Works OK when I open the saved session in a new window
I've tested it on:
- Windows 10 and Linux (Manjaro)
- clean profile and clean install without extensions and non-standard plugins
version used in tests: 5.0.2497.38 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit)
other than that - I cannot imagine work without Vivaldi, it's an outstanding tool!
I couldn't find any of the above issues mentioned on the forum and not sure if exist already as formally reported bugs.
thanks in advance

I also have the issue with Hibernated tabs not being dimmed in the window panel. It is very difficult to work out which tabs you can quickly hibernate when they all look identical. This used to work but broke a number of months ago.

missing hibernated tab marker bug is reported: VB-87962
I did encounter the save session via window panel bug randomly in the past, so it's a bug. Pls also report other bugs HERE if you can reproduce 'em reliably, best include step by step of how to reproduce 'em.
