Hide Title Bar

  • To me the biggest waste of space is the title bar, Is there any way to hide this with vivaldi in Windows? For comparison, I do this in firefox with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hide-caption-titlebar-plus-sma/ which puts the options button on the next row down by the back button and hides the title bar; the minimize/close buttons are optional. Interestingly, the Show User Interface option in the settings seems to do the exact opposite of what I am looking for, it hides all the things I want to keep, like tabs and URL bar, but still shows the title bar, the one thing I want to hide.

  • Probably the most anti-intuitive setting in Vivaldi:
Settings > Appearance > Use Native Window > uncheck

Thanks for the reply. I do have this option unchecked, the windows title bar is not what I am referring to, it's the Vivaldi one that remains when you uncheck that option. It's the row that has the Vivaldi button (or the File, Edit, View Tools, Window and Help menus). Basically, ideally the top of the window should just be a row for the address bar, and a row for the tab bar (assuming tabs are not set to display on the side).

here is a picture showing this setup on firefox. Notice there is no wasted vertical space with a caption or title bar.

  • Here's a screen shot of the very top of the maximised Vivaldi window, without the title bar, with Use Native Window not checked, and Remove space above tabs checked. The menu bar is also not displayed. Use the button menu.

  • this is a great way to merge the titlle / menu bar.

This does not work if you desire the address bar (and tabs) at the bottom. I personally, don't want to even see the tabs because the tab selector is wicked.

  • @Applepie i'm really agree. I see no changes now. I would like to place tabs to the left, and address bar to the bottom. But there is annoying bar on the top with no functions except minimize, close and vivaldi btn. I want it to dissapear.
