Vivaldi Keyboard Issues on websites
-
Hello, some websites allow you to use functions like Ctrl-B to bold text in edit fields. When this is done, the browser interprets this as opening up the bookmark panel AND allows the website to handle it, rather than just allowing the website to handle it. The website's keyboard functionality should override the browser's. Yeah… except that disables Vivaldi shortcuts (which I use) :S

This is so extremely irritating and I'm this close to going back to Opera. Do the users of this browser not type in websites? I find bookmark bars popping up, pages refreshing, pages going back, etc. It's the worst. I was in the middle of an online class yesterday and missed things because the browser refreshed on me while I was typing numerous times during the class.

There's a command to toggle keyboard shortcuts off and on. Assign a shortcut that is hard to use by accident, such as Ctrl + Alt + Enter.
For a frequently used shortcut like Ctrl B, remove it from the function to open the Bookmarks, and assign Ctrl + Shift + B to that instead. With a minimum amount of thought and effort, you can make this workable until the bugs get fixed.

This is like… extremely basic browser functionality. I've never seen a browser have such problems with it before. It's been months and it hasn't been fixed. I don't agree that constantly toggling keyboard shortcuts is a minimum amount of effort.
I appreciate the thought and I'll probably set this up, but it's baffling the issue has existed for this long.
