SOLVED Regularly updating Vivaldi

  • Hi. Using latest snapshot of Vivaldi for Linux. Really nice! How does one keep Vivaldi updated? Do I need to download each new version and install it over the old one? Is there a way to update vivaldi from within the browser itself? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

    as far as i know, autoupdate is not available for linux. in my case i use sudo apt-get install vivaldi-snapshot

  • It depends of the distribution you use.
    .deb and .rpm based Distributions update Vivaldi the same way as any other programm. Arch based System also.

    "sudo apt-get upgrade" update vivaldi when a new version is avaible.

    @RocknRolf:

    "sudo apt-get upgrade" ….

    issueing the above command will upgrade all available upgrades. to avoid that, i use sudo apt-get -s upgrade

  • Many thanks! Should be easy enough.

    Best.
