@ayespy Pāli is detected as Latvian. It is surprising to me.

Vivaldi and SiriusXM web player broken since years: live stream stops after a while.
Works in Chromium 92.Oh, there is a report: VB-63344 "[regression] SiriusXM no longer works after upgrade"
-
No pressure or anything, but it would be great if the pop-up position would readjust so that the translation is always visible. -

I get random crashes on this snapshot.
Same issue encountered here with crash.
-
I can confirm random crashes, unfortunately…
Not page crash, but, browser suddenly closed as program.LE: As requested by guigirl: Windows 7 & 10, x64…

@vort: What's the bug report number you used with the crash logs?
Where do you see crash mentions in my message?
It is about checkbox, which resets to default (enabled) state after browser restart, which: 1. Should be easy to fix. 2. Very annoying. -
Browser crash sometimes after text selection. Sometimes selection text translate pop-up appears even when it disabled. I'm sure that crash occurs because of this new pop-up.
-
@infosrefanvlad Please read Help us to reproduce the issue carefully and then report bug to Vivaldi tracker.
-
@asires: Same here. Choosing a text seems to be the only connective action before surprisingly crashing (browser closes immediately, I don't see any pop-up).

@finneko Strange issue. Does it happen on all web pages?
I do not have such crashes with translate selection Win 10 Pro x64 21H2
-
@finneko @Asires I also got similar crashes on one of the first builds that had this feature but stopped having them before it was included in the first snapshot build.
Nevertheless, you should send the crash logs through the bugtracker to help the developers figure it out. See: https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/ -
@guigirl Mine never crashes in Win10 either, no matter what actions I perform. So it's a mystery so far...
-
@ayespy With archlinux I also receive some crashes (not too many). Nothing specific on the console though.
segmentation fault (core dumped) vivaldi-snapshot --enable-features=UseOzonePlatform --ozone-platform=wayland
-
@jumpsq I can fire it up in Linux Mint and see what happens. Do not have Archlinux here.
-
@ayespy Mint is based on the LTS version of Ubuntu that doesn't support Wayland (work in progress display server that is intended to replace Xorg at some point) so that's not going to tell anything, Wayland on the other hand is imo not mature enough yet, best practice is not to use experimental stuff and flags (in this case Wayland) that are not officialy supported by Vivaldi yet afaik.
-
@npro Yeah. I run Mint completely vanilla. I don't add anything at all to it. Same way I run my Vivaldi.
-
@npro Are you saying that experimental stuff is not officially supported? (Btw,. Wayland is not experimental, though it’s WIP. Wayland support in Chromium is experimental.)
Anyway, I don’t get any crashes running this build Wayland-natively in kiwmi on my Artix.

Pretty much this, Vivaldi offers a vanilla product and support for that, whatever experimental flag a user uses is his responsibility (to live with the consequences).
/edit: P.S. Though it would be interesting reading Vivaldi's view/status/ETA at some point regarding its Wayland implementation in the future, as their own UI is not Chromium's as many "outsiders" falsely believe and I'd assume they would need to do "their own magic" for it to work 100%.
-
Well, doesn't crash here in Linux, either.
-
Thank you!
