Bug/suggestion vis a vis web panel toggling:

  • It seems to me that when a web panel is toggled (shown or hidden,) it animates and resizes the page until it reaches the desired width of panel. That looks nice but what I've noticed is that the page responds to that resize event, which can cause some small usability problems with sites like, for instance, messenger.com. When you hide and then show the panel, it will initially render the page at a small width and then expand the panel until it reaches its former size. This causes messenger to resize its chat message bubbles appropriately, which causes a vertical scroll event; when the panel is finished being shown the page is scrolled a short way up, due to how the elements on the page have resized during this whole event. It leaves the user with a bit of manual scrolling to do to get back to the bottom of the list of messages. I was wondering if there was a way to alter this behaviour for sites that suffer this problem? Here's a pair of screenshots which demonstrate this issue: 1.
