Accordion

Quote from the 4.1 intro page on the accordion function for tabs: "If you want the accordion to stay expanded, double-click it when opening."
I have chosen to use double-click to close tabs, and find it not very smart (I would say stupid, but I don't know if moderator will accept that) to use that same procedure for two almost opposite functions.

@dovregubben Or you could say it is pretty stupid to expect double-click to expand a tab stack if you already use it for closing a tab. If you want to expand a stack, but don't want to use Auto Expand or disable double-click to close a tab, then click the right arrow to expand it.
People are always asking for more options, but more is not always better. It makes the produce harder to master and more difficult to support.
I don't mind if double-click expands a tab stack because I don't use double-click to close a tab. Middle-click can also be used, but I tend to use the close button, which I prefer on the left.
Nowadays one can spend half an hour just deciding what kind of cheese to buy. Life used to be so much simpler.

Double-click to expand/collapse tab stack was Opera [Presto] unique feature. When double-click to close tabs feature was introduced in Vivaldi I thought it's kinda weird feature because we have a middle click. Nowadays I use double-click to close tabs on certain devises where middle click is not available (tab close button is disabled).
So I think the solution might be:
-
if double-click to close tabs option is enabled you can't expand/collapse tab stack by double-click.
-
alternative option in the settings to expand/collapse tab stack, e.g. middle click, but the ability to close tabs with middle click would be disabled.
