Thanks @pesala. That did the trick. Also thanks for confirming it's a regression. Will wait for the fix.

Why did the "new tabs" button move to far the far right of the tabs bar? And there's no option for it to be near the last tab?? Annoying!

@paulojrmam Happens sometimes, that is a known bug in Vivaldi 4.1.

Command chains is a game changer, as a power user Vivaldi has helped me allot and replaced many extensions and has features not found in any browser.
            Another great release.

Very nice this and I understand the effort they make when adding things to chromium, but most of these novelties are only aesthetics that functionally do not add anything. Since they are not going to implement the automatic deletion of the session history when closing the browser, it would be good if they at least enabled (as they did with the calendar) to be able to view the mail in private mode.
Ah! the mail manager has an extra column (the size column) because it is empty and does not show any value.

@peterpanm: I am talking about the recent versions of Edge (aka. Edgium). Its tab bar with the shadow effect and drop-down menu look gorgeous.

@gabito , yes it has, in the privacy settings you can select how long you like to guard the browsing data, from Session only to Forever.

Nice new updates, but was hoping to see tab dragging given an option back to sliding and not the dotted-line-only method (aka floaty tabs)...

Since Stable 4.1 I'm facing random tab close situatuin. Example:
I'm on page with multiple links, hold ctrl and open 2,3,4 links in background. And while they are loading, switch to one of them, it got immediately closed, not happens 100% time, but pretty often.

I read with interest all the new Vivaldi developments and run Vivaldi on a windows computer, but I wished you would have a version for Chromebook, Chrome OS.

@reddy-shyam: That's an annoying bug. I was the one reworking that code, and I realize the mistake now. I'll look at it again on Thursday (currently on vacay).

@catweazle: Tabs are a bit small, address bar is a bit small. If i start fast clicking on tabs Vivaldi goes nuts. Not everybody have and use, latest the greatest system with zoomed resolution. Try using this browser on 10 years old laptop and it's not a slow laptop, Firefox and Chrome runs just fine on it, just Vivaldi is something special.

@ipristy , in the settings you can adjust the min tabs and bars width, also the font hights, this is what make the mesures, smaler fonts= smaler bars.

                                @catweazle:
I already know that and I have it configured to delete at logout, but this only deletes the browsing history, remaining in the browser:
1- the history of recent closed tabs (which indirectly shows you all the browsing history).
                                2-the download history
                                3-the autofill history
From what I see, they care more about privacy remotely (which is fine) but they remain vulnerable in terms of privacy on the pc, in case you use a computer shared with other people (either, at work or in your house). Currently, almost all chromium-based browsers (even Edge on windows, which I use on w10 and vivaldi on manjaro), except chrome, allow you to delete the "complete" history (browsing history along with the 3 mentioned before). I understand that this may be difficult to implement, but it would be nice if it could be done, even if they put a "button" next to the trash of recent closed windows that when using it allows you to delete everything

@gabito , true, it would be wishable to expand somewhat the possibilities in 'Session only'. Well anyway with the Site Bleacher extension, I have stored only the data of the few sites I visit regularly, like this Forum and little else.
Meanwhile has to serve Shift Ctrl Del for the data and 'D' for the trash, which can be tolerated until a corresponding function is implemented in Vivaldi, which they will surely do sooner or later if exist a Feature Request about it (I think so)

@jon I loved Vivaldi like love in first sight. I got an issue on mobile verification. So, I left it almost two months. Now suddenly yesterday, I thought to mail back the Vivaldi help line.

And check, with in 6 hours, they have solved my problem. And I am here... (forever...) 🙂

Maybe a registry error, Vivaldi update.exe isn't a independent app in the list.

In some earlier version there was introduced a change, that newly created tabs get to be attached to the current tab stack by default. I couldn't find how I could change it back. I didn't want this, but OK, fine, so be it. I went around this to create a separate mouse gesture to remove current tab from the tab stack.

But now this mechanism is broken. If I try to remove the new tab from the tab stack, either with a mouse gesture or with a command in the context menu, the WHOLE STACK gets dismantled. Interestingly, from what I see, only new tabs present such broken behavior. Please fix it.

@pepkin88 That is how the "New Tab" action behaves. However, Vivaldi also has a separate action, "New Top Level Tab" that will always create a new tab outside of the current tab stack. The "+" button on the tab bar will always open a top-level tab. If you want Ctrl-T to behave the same way, you need to reassign that keyboard shortcut. Likewise for the "New Tab" mouse gesture.
