Is there a quick way to access notes on my Android phone? When I do access them when I go to another app and then return I have to go through the process again. Any kind of shortcut I'm missing or a widget?

Hi, I tested this on latest stable and snapshot and it work as you expected, notes are still open after change to/from an other app.
Please add your Vivaldi version and mobile specs.

        Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite
        Android 11
        Vivaldi Android Snapshot 4.1

        Cheers, mib

Ok I tried it again and if I use the icon to go back into Vivaldi it goes back to the startup screen. If I use recent apps it still shows notes.

I am using an a LG K92 with android 10. I just put Vivaldi Browser on it yesterday so it is current.

I don't know what snapshot is but I'm checking it out now.

I can verify, use icon open with start page.
Snapshots are beta version on a weekly base, new features, bug fixes but sometimes new bugs, too.
I use snapshots since the start of Vivaldi.
You can use both independent on Android.

            Cheers, mib

I'd like to use Vivaldi Notes as the system note program. To that end, I would like to see a Notes widget for the Home screen, for immediate direct access.

Current Vivaldi snapshot.. MX-21 Linux x64, KDE desktop. Vivaldi Android on phone.

This is still happening to me. I wonder if anybody ever filled it as a bug?

Hi, I think this is not a bug but by design, you cant add system/settings pages to desktop.
It would be a nice feature for mail, notes and calendar, on Android for notes and reading lists.
The OP ask for stay at notes if you change from other app to Vivaldi and this work, if I understand this correctly.

                  Cheers, mib

That is a misundestanding, I think. The situation is as follows.

                    1. I open a note in Vivladi Android.
                    2. I switch to another app on the phone.
3a. I go back to Vivaldi Android via app switcher
-> all is good, note is still open
3b. i go back by touching Vivaldi icon on the Desktop
-> note is not open anymore

(note this is unlike behaviour with tabs, where the behaviour is the same no matter i I use 3a or 3b).

AH, I always use the app switcher, never thought about to minimize apps to reach the Vivaldi icon.
This looks more like bug, it should not matter how you reach the app, app switcher and icon should open the same page.
If you make a report I can verify it.

                      Cheers, mib
