Unable use single "T" as toggle Quickcommand shortcut
-
Can't use single keyboard shortcut "T" as activate Quickcommand.
The last build it was working is Vivaldi.3.7.2218.58.x64 (Stable), and these keyboard problem has been left ignored since then. -
@toypop Nothing is broken, and nothing is being ignored.
The "T" shortcut is assigned to the Command Show Message Thread.
What has changed is that the Mail Client is now available. See Settings, Keyboard, Mail where you will find a number of single-key shortcuts assigned to mail commands.
If you don't ever intend to use the email client, or even if you do, you can delete these shortcuts and assign them to other purposes. In my case "T" is assigned to Tile Vertically.

@pesala
Thanks for quick reply, now I can use my own key setting by enabling Email then disable their keys.But I don't get it. I haven't use Mail client nor I will. So I didn't notice the T key is assigned to the other function which is hidden by default. In this case how users can notice their shortcut key is stolen? Setting should have told me "T is assigned to the Mail" or something, when I tried to set the key. Or I say If Mail client is disabled its shortcuts should be totally disabled too.

@toypop This is the message I get if I try to restore the default shortcut for Show Message Thread:
If I delete the Tile shortcut, then I can restore it to mail, and I then get this error on trying to assign it to Tile Vertically.
So the warning is functioning correctly. If you selected the Fully Loaded option in the Vivaldi Welcome Tour then mail would have been enabled. Even if you did not enable mail, then those mail shortcuts should, I believe, be reserved.
If mail is not enabled, at least you should get a warning when trying to assign a shortcut that is reserved. I am not able to test that easily. If the T shortcut was already assigned to Quick Commands then enabling mail should not override it. The Show Message Thread shortcut should just be empty.

@pesala
Now, I find that It's because I use Vivaldi in Japanese language.
I can confirm that Japanese version doesn't say anything and allow me to assign the key which is reserved in disabled Mail client. -
-
@toypop I am unsure if it is because you have a Japanese version or because mail is not enabled. Maybe someone else who never uses mail can test that for you.

I can do the same in English UI.
I'm using latest snapshot to check this problem ever since build 3.7.22.
Because I've been installed/uninstalled 3.8-4.0 and saw the problem still exists and found disappointed. -
Anyways, thanks @Pesala, now I can use latest builds without losing my previous shortcuts!
