My first experience with Vivaldi

  • I downloaded Vivaldi because I wanted to try an alternative to Firefox, Crome and co. I was really surprised when I saw how cool this Browser is already now. This is why i decided to use this browser even if it's beta as my main browser. But there were even some Probems when I started using Vivaldi. I tried to edit bookmarks and I added a new folder. That worked pretty well. But when I wanted to add a new folder in the root, that was not possible any more. It took me some time to realize that I have to press ESC to remove the selection, so that I can add a new Folder to the root of the bookmarks. Another problem was the use of local addresses. It's really bad if i want to access a local webserver i usually entered "myserver" into the address bar. The browser then navigated to the webserver if it exists. Otherwise it started so search for the term. With Vivaldi i always have to write "http://myserver" and this is really annoying. Maybe there will be an option in future to enable this feature. All in all i love Vivaldi. It has features only Opera had before. It works as good as Chrome and supports (until now) all websites i know. I love the style and customizability of Vivaldi and I have to say.. I love this bowser. What were your first experiences and problems? Do you already have some Ideas to solve my little problems?

    Welcome to the forum -CHF-!
To access my own server I just bookmarked it. Now I have the respective thumb nail on Speed Dial and it is always just one click away. ;)
My first impression was that of this community. The people writing here are mostly very amenable to all the different comments. The Vivaldi team seems to be very close to the community. That's really remarkable from my point of view. Vivaldi is in daily use with me and like all human made software there are a lot of quirks but because of it's rapid development cycle it never becomes boring. :)

  • Is there any place where I can post feature requests or report problems?

There are threads for both here in the forums. To go directly to the attention of the developers, you may use https://vivaldi.com/bugreport.html for both bugs and feature requests
