vivaldi://sync-internals crashing
-
Whenever I click on the Sync Node Browser tab at vivaldi://sync-internals, Vivaldi crashes immediately. This has happened every time I click on it during the last ~36 hours. I never went to vivaldi://sync-internals before that. I'm checking to see if anyone has this problem before submitting a bug report.
-
I am also having a problem with sync, which I will report separately.
-
Sync is working for me on 4.0.2312.41 & 4.1.2358.15 / Win 10 x64.
And Vivaldi servers are operational. And vivaldi://sync-internals page does not crash.

@libcub See the known issues on the Snapshot Blog.
-
@pesala Yes, I have followed the suggestion to clear server data, but I still have the problem. Also, the Known Issue you refer to does not appear in the blog post for the latest snapshot, so I thought that meant is wasn't a problem in that version.
-
@libcub For those users it affects, I assume that it would remain a problem until they clear their server data.
I cannot reproduce the issue here on the latest Snapshot. I did not need to clear server data.
-
@libcub Looks like some software on you PC closes the connection.
Tell us about use of- Security software (Internet Security, Anti-virus etc.)
- Privacy extensions in Vivaldi
- VPN
- Proxy
-
My idea for a workaround: Logout from Sync an login again. That helped me in such cases while i was testing.
-
@doctorg There is no security software on the laptop beyond Windows Security and Windows Defender Firewall, and no privacy extensions in my installation. I am not using a VPN or proxy.
-
@doctorg I've tried logging out of Sync and back in, closing and reopening Vivaldi, and rebooting the machine. Sync looks like it is fine initially, but in all those cases, the problem returns within a few hours.
-
The original problem reported above is not happening now. If it happens again for me, I will file a bug report.
