Extensions
-
Hello . I have been using Vivaldi for several years now . In the past I have had no trouble adding extensions .
After installing a new hard drive in a pc and adding the most recent Vivaldi Browser , I can no longer add the extensions I desire .
For example , if I wanted to add ad block plus , when I go the the chrome web store , the blue "add extension" button that usually appears does not show up at all . This has happened with several extensions that I wish to add . Everything else is working fine with the pc . If I open the Firefox browser , I am able to add any extension I desire . Also , when I go to another PC with an older version of Vivaldi installed , adding extensions is no problem .
I have tried disabling the built in Vivaldi ad and tracker blockers , turning off my VPN and not using private windows but whatever I try , the blue "add extension" button will not appear on the page that explain the extensions features .
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated . Thank You .

Thanks for the suggestion . Yes , web store is enabled .
Also , even though I've never had to sign in to my google account just to install extensions at the web store , I've tried that as well and I receive a message that reads that I'm not able to log in because I'm not using a supported browser . I've also received this message if I attempt to sign in to my account on youtube .

Ahhh . Got it . Earlier , when I enabled web store , I failed to re start the browser . I just went back and re started and I'm able to add extensions now .
Thank You kindly for your help !

Also remember that certain extensions have not been designed with Linux OSs in mind.
Also some are designed to only work with MS browsers/chrome/Safari and do not work with Vivaldi.
Although they usually mention they are for Win/Mac only in the preamble.
Trusteer Rapport is one example. -
