Web pages redirection.

  • Please developpers, add a setting to stop automatic redirection of web pages. This was present in Opera.

    This was present in Opera.

Moreover, this is one of those settings that cries out for its own toolbar button - and a user-configurable toolbar to put it on. I use Olde Opera frequently for this very reason: it's easy to trap redirect issues for problem sites right at the browser toolbar with such a button.

The old versions of Opera had this setting but I think it dissapear in the newest versions,
    am I right.

I think it's disappeared in most 'modern' browsers, or at least it's far more buried than it was in Olde Opera. Even Firefox now seems to lack it (unless it's buried in the bowels of the settings somewhere, in which case it's useless for ordinary usage). What I do know is that it makes problems with websites much harder to analyze if redirection failures or hijackings are involved - unless one trots out Olde Opera to use as a tool. Perhaps there's something in the chromium/Blink engine that's hostile to blocking redirects, but nevertheless it remains sad to see useful 'tool' features evaporating from browsers this way.

  • If we could know what this setting was doing exactly, we could create a script or a registry key
    to activate it !

  • it is weird that nobody exept us are complaining about that.
