Migrating to Windows 64-bit
-
I'm going to install Windows 64-bit version for the first time (Windows 10), will it work to just copy everything from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default into the same folder for Vivaldi 64-bit? or is it somehow incompatible or folder different? I want to at least import Bookmarks and Notes, but if all the settings are imported, even better.

Yes. It will work just fine. BUT - don't install Vivaldi 64 if you want the smoothest fastest and most resource-friendly experience at this point. Stick with Vivaldi 32. That's what I use on my X64 system.
The only thing you will lose by copying the file will be your passwords. So if you have passwords stored in the browser and are afraid you won't remember them, you can first go to chrome://settings/search#pass and from there you can view and transcribe all of your passwords. Then go right on ahead and copy the entire User Data folder over.

Thanks for you reply! I use Roboform so passwords not a problem.
So Vivaldi 32-bit will still work on a 64-bit OS? Never used 64bit OS before, I thought you need a 64-bit software or some sort of emulation… -
Pretty much all 32-bit software will work on Windows 64-bit. Well more than half of the software on my machine is 32-bit.

Thanks, mate. Installed, everything's OK!

@Quinca71: I won't say you SHOULD change. You MAY change. At the moment there is no particular reason to do so, but no reason not to do it, either. With the direction Chromium is going, I expect X64 to be a majority default or preferred version in the not-too distant future. Though 32-bit is still the preferred version of Vivaldi at present, that will not always be the case.

@Quinca71: And, yes, there should be no difficulty with installing X64 right over the top of X32.
