New Vivaldi install not syncing up or down.
-
Just did a new Vivaldi install on openSUSE but it won't sync up or down. I have it installed on another desktop running openSUSE and all is fine. In my 2+ years of using Vivaldi, I've not had this happen before. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Both machines are on the same network and the network is up.
Thanks!

@cmccullough
Hi, is it possible you installed the snapshot version of Vivaldi instead of stable? In the snapshot version sync is broken.
An other bug is the username can be cmc but you can log in with Cmc, too but does not sync.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Just checked to make sure and I have the stable release installed. Just checked my install on my other openSUSE machine and it successfully synced just 15 minutes ago. So it doesn't appear that sync is down on Vivaldi's servers.

@mib2berlin I just successfully logged in using the current latest Snapshot build, without having to reset my remote data.
At first glance, I don't see any duplicated notes or bookmarks.
As usual, the Vivaldi Team sorted things out in due course.

@pesala
Hi, working for me too but the OP cant sync with Stable.Cheers, mib

I may install the latest snapshot to see how that works for me. The sync engine is taking forever to initiate and when it does, syncing still isn't working for me.
-
No luck on my end. I'm experiencing the same issues with the latest snapshot. The sync engine takes 4 or 5 minutes to initialize and once it finally does, syncing still fails. I think I'll just wait a while to see if there are server issues.
-
@cmccullough It stopped syncing for me too, so maybe we need to wait another week or two.
-
@pesala Yeah, it's strange. Syncing is working on my stable install on another openSUSE machine but syncing isn't working on stable or snapshot on a separate openSUSE machine. Not sure where to go with this one.
