@stardepp
Thanks, very nice coments too but all from old Opera 12 user, hehe.Cheers, mib

@stardepp The implementation of mail is very raw and unread feeds show up in my unread mail tab. I was excited at first as a former Opera 12 user but the update from 3 to 4.0 has been worse for me as many things from menu bars to keyword shortcuts have been broken. I can't even turn annoying notification popups off from mail so I'm seriously considering removing my mail and feeds from Vivaldi.
It's very sad that several years on Vivaldi looks and feels like beta software. How did 4.0 get a stable release? I can understand feeds and mail being off as they're clearly beta, but why did the menu bar disappear?

@ohlong I can't confirm that at all. Vivaldi 4.0 Stable runs very reliably and error-free for me.
In particular, Vivaldi Mail Beta also runs very reliably and trouble-free for me.
We should be grateful for what the small Vivaldi team (about 55 employees) is developing.
Which menu bar do you mean?

@ohlong You have to work with it, some of the issues are non issues. For example feeds can be hidden from your unread tab, if you donβt want them there. Just use the toggle in the search field when Unread is selected.

As they did in Opera 12 already

I can't say I relate to that but maybe because I use mostly the default configurations for those. I did notice loss of history and an annoying tendency to keep reverting the cookies to a session only setting. I know there were sync issues, but I'm not sure my symptoms were related to those. Not sure if it could be your case as well? (then again, maybe not, what do you mean by "broken"?)

There are two popup settings, one for feeds and one for mail. Did you turn off both? If so, just search for "notification" in the Settings panel and see if something else rings a bell...

Could it be related to this other thread? https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/62202/show-tab-bar-setting-hides-menu-bar?_=1626248639430
