Unsolved Window Size Detection in Atrad trading software wrong?
-
I suspect that the window size is not correctly reported to the websites.
When the panel bar is open on the left and navigating to a web based UI there is always a strip which is size of the panel which is off screen on the right. In this case scroll bars appear through, hence it is not chopped off screen. This does not happen in other Chromium variants (even ones with side panel bar like Opera GX) and Firefox.
Also when the status bar is visible I am not sure if this area is removed from what is reported to the website.
What might need checking is what is 100% translated in CSS and what is reported in JS, which might be making small strip of the UIs go off screen.

@gwen-dragon I did not test anything specific.
When I login to a trading software called Atrad with Vivaldi by screen is chopped. This is the right most edge of the screen.
This does not happen with other browsers where the content is sized properly to fit the window.

@gwen-dragon When I type 93 the content fits the window.

@gwen-dragon I am a bit wary to install extensions.
This is not a big issue which happens with few sites.
-
@gwen-dragon Sorry my bad. Spelling mistake. Now corrected.
I don't like to have extensions.
Any way, on further investigation, when the side panel toolbar is expanded and closed or the 2 row tabs open and closed many websites re draw themselves. Some sites don't. The above issue happens with the sites on the sites which do not update the layout. Parts of with get pushed off screen.
So I believe best way to fix it is have an option in settings to make the panel toolbar and the address bar floating. This would make them cover part of the page but not push it off screen. When this is not selected redraw the page with the new view port size.

Panels:
Settings | Panel | Panels | Panel Options
& tickFloating Panel
. -
Address Bar: you can hide the address bar & use
crtl+L/F8
to focus the address field orcrtl+K
to focus the search field (you can also assign your own KB shortcuts or map MGs for these commands).

When there are a mix of:
- single row tabs
- 2 row tab stacks
When switching from a single row tab to a two row tab stack the windows readjust 1st to the size of single row tab which was open and then to the two row tab size. So for a few fractions of a second when the tabs switch the text, images and ui jumps around until the double resize is finish.
When opening a new stacked tab from a row 1 tab this 1st open in the 1st row and then quickly moved to the 2nd row. This also cause a momentary double flicker in the UI. Ideally it should be open in the 2nd row directly and then page redrawn.
I am not creating a new thread for this as it is somewhat related.
