Drop Icon
-
Drop Icon is a search engine, which works in a different way, with drag and drop from a list of icons, the desired one in the search field, for example the Game icon.
This causes a search with results related to games.
You can also switch to image search and drag and drop a related (with the switch below )
The lack is, that you can't add it to the list of search engines,, because of the manner it's work, but you can use it with a bookmark or adding to the Web Panel, also with the Chrome extension
Result
Admit also the use with webcam, looking the desired Icon (click on to activate)

Interesting concept for sure. Nothing for me though, I prefer to use the keyboard to type. Might be good as an accessibility prototype for people with disabilities. But of course the options are much too limited at the moment for anything but very superficial search.
But fun to find the connections between say Star Wars and NFL

@pathduck , yes, the advantage is to drop several icons to filter the results.
Good also the image search system, but only still Pixabay images
But yes, it's a little bit limitated, but can be a good app for complemental search.
Well, it's also still very new (this year) and base with own crawler -
Looks like it uses POST and an encoded
csrf_token
value to stop people using results on other pages. Which basically makes it impossible to add as a search engine in Vivaldi. Even if it wouldn't really make much sense... -
@pathduck , yes, as I said, it can serve as a complementary search engine to find quickly (damn fast if it is) relevant results for certain topics.
There may be more options in the future. It is clear that being so new with its own engine, that it does not yet have a very large base, although few results, they are quite relevant.
That it cannot be added to the list is also clear from the way it works, as it does not support keyboard input.
Anyway I had bookmarked it.
Sometimes I find things about people who develop apps and services that go a different path from the established one and it is always good to take them into account, like this one that I presented some time ago, which may be useful for developers. -
