Contacts, Calendar, History, Bookmark and Form Synch
-
Can we have the ability to synch the contacts, calendar, history, etc. with Google, OutLook, Mozilla, etc. browsing history, contacts and calendar.
Most important is contacts and calendar which frequently used in other apps also.
Synch browsing related data with Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, Opera, etc. is desired, at least as and import to start with.

Also notes to be synched with other notes apps.

@sirinath welcome to the forum!
Let's break this down a bit
- History & Notes are very browser specific. Unlikely that Vivaldi (or any browser, really) will make it super easy to sync this with another browser. Vivaldi Sync only syncs the typed history with other Vivaldi installations.
- Contacts: Once Vivaldi knows CardDav, at least import/export should work. But sync is unlikely.
This is all client side data, so sync will likely not easily be possible cross browser unless you use extensions (example: an external password manager like KeypassX)
- Calendar: if the calendar is hosted on a web service like e.g. the calendar on webmail.vivaldi.net, then any program that can sync with web calendars can also sync with Vivaldi - because contrary to all the other systems mentioned above, here we have an actual standard and hosting on the server.

@wildente Thanks for the quick reply. I believe all phones have contact synch. What ever feature used here can be used to synch with contacts. Also there are note apps which synch with EverNote, Google Keep, etc. Perhaps there is a public API here also.
Since every one has been using these apps on ones phone one has a lot of history stored in existing apps. It is cool have contacts in the browser but if this has the be manually synched with contacts on the phone this is very tedious as people will not use it. Say if one has been using OneNote people will keep using it unless there is sync as everything to this point is there. Someone who who is using say the notes feature for a 1st time may use the notes in Vivadi as there is no switching cost. Similar to other stuff like notes, web history, etc.
These may be technically challenging to implement but from the users perspective absence of synch and inter operability can be a show stopper.

@wildente CardDAV is the sync of vCard files I think.

@sirinath I think contacts sync could happen.
You could vote for the feature request for Notes Web Client to view in other browsers.

@code3 Send me the post I should vote on.
