Option to Disable Tab Groups
-
Please.
-
You mean, like this one?
-
@pauloaguia It's about mobile version.
-
@takawo Sorry, hadn't noticed the group this post was on (gets me every time )
But I'm very curious now... which version of Vivaldi are you using and how are you stacking the tabs? I've tried moving them around but all I get is to move their position in the tab bar, can't manage to stack them... that's a feature I'd appreciate to use in the mobile, actually
-
@pauloaguia Latest version, 4.0.2313.11
@linuxb Thank you. But I think this flag will be removed at some point, so I want an option to disable it in the settings page.
-
Yes, please disable this.
There is an error of the tabs going into groups without asking to put them in groups.
In version 4.0.2313.5
Thanks

vivaldi://flags ->#enable-tab-groups (Disable it.)In Vivaldi 4.* you have to enable #temporary-unexpire-flags-m90 and after that disable tab groups.
That doesn't work. The tab groups menus are all still there.
Context menu in a link still shows "open in a new tab group", for example. -
I don't use tab groups and I have never created a tab group by accident.

@stardust You can try it here. Tap on the image posted in this thread.

You are right! It creates a tab group. It feels more like a bug to me. Bug report maybe?
-
@stardust Thanks, but this happens in Chrome as well, so I don't think this is a Vivaldi-specific bug at least.
-
@takawo really!? Well, I don't have Chrome installed.
PS: no problem in Firefox btw

It's working.
The context menu item "open in a new tab group" remains, but simply do not use it.I'm going to explain just in the off chance that you're not trolling me:
I don't want the tabs context menu there. Now, Everytime I want to open a link in a new tab, I have to read the options to get the one I want.
You have broken my muscle memory.
Also, it's extremely stupid to have that option there when I have taken explicit pain to disable it. -
I was floored when I realized there's no supported way to disable tab groups. Surprising for Vivaldi to provide no options... And tabs groups are a seriously intrusive change.
-
@phgarcia He/She told us the best we could do at the moment.
If you are not satisfied, you should tell someone on the development team, not him/her. -
@takawo I agree!!
-
We are adding an option to enable/disable tab groups (should be available for testing with the next Snapshot update).

Nice! Thanks !
-
@takawo groupping is good but I want to see an option in the menu to open in new (background) not group tab.
-
You can now enable and disable Tab Stacks from Settings > Tab.
