Where are read emails?
I've used lots of mail clients, and I've never yet seen one where if you mark an email as read, it completely vanishes, with no apparent way to view it again later.
There should be some way of viewing emails marked as read, maybe a toggle to switch between read/unread emails or an option to show all emails vs just unread ones. Maybe there is, and it's just really well hidden, but I honestly looked everywhere and couldn't find it.
This is important because if I click on an email on my phone's mail client, it gets marked as read immediately, even if it's a long email and I don't have time to finish reading it. When I'm at my computer, I would still need to read the email on my phone as it won't appear in Vivaldi on my computer.
This goes hand in with the many requests I've seen for the opposite scenario - ie I check my emails in Vivaldi, and none of them get marked as read, so when I look on my phone later, it still shows that I have 65 unread emails. Having to manually mark each email as read or unread individually effectively makes it too cumbersome to use.
You can click on received in the mail panel and that will show all emails, read and unread:

@nukkels first buttons in search bar on full mail tab toggles showing both read and unread in left side.
Ah, I see - you HAVE to have the mail icon in the sidebar for this option to be available (and it's not there by default). I was just using the icon in the status bar at the bottom.
That toggle does not appear until after you've set the list to show all mail. That seems like a bug, but one which could easily be 'fixed' by setting it to show all mail as the default, rather than just the unread items.

In Opera Mail (and M2) it was possible to add a field to the mail toolbar which showed the name of the current view and when clicked allowed you to pick another view from a list; they should add something like this to Vivaldi.

@nukkels the button should have been there to start with, if it is missing that's a bug - many folks mention the panel buttons didn't show.
The default view is unread, thus doesn't show read emails, so that's fine and only appears wrong initially.
@sgunhouse I think your suggestion to have a drop down to change to another view without the panel would resolve a lot of issues for a lot of folks that don't like the panel so much. Chip in a button to compose a new mail there and panel-less emailing becomes possible
@nukkels I think a reasonable default would be "received," which is different from "All Messages," but does show received mail that has been marked as "read."
