Mail filters include/exclude groups: add labels, bodies, other filters etc
-
First I wondered what the point of an include group is in a keyword search, and then I realized it's that it is too limited with just From, to, cc and subject.
Some suggestions
- labels
- flags
- body text
- headers (by header type even - see M2?)
- has attachment (by type?! -> attachment view)
- Mail account(s)
- (other) filters
- IMAP folders
- etc ....
Also, I feel this functionality is too buried in the settings, in particular when the filter is later shown in the panel and I have no means to edit it from the right-click menu.
Settings are the place where I expect to set up accounts and how the client behaves. Stuff like filters and the mailing list things I would expect in specific context related dialogs. Admittedly, it's not too terrible that it is in the settings. -

While we're on this subject, does Vivaldi support multiple search terms separated by ; or , or + or -
And finally, if user deletes an email filter in panel, Vivaldi does not update the filter list w/o restart. However, deleting filter in panel does update filter list in email settings.

@janrifkinson am I the only one who has a use case for mail filters with time search?

Is this not more of a feature request? And this is a duplicate of this one: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/59473/sort-and-or-filter-for-flags-labels
-
It is a feature request indeed, but not a duplicate of the other one, this here focuses on the filtering part and is rather specific, the other one asks for mail actions which are being implemented right now

Ppafflick moved this topic from Mail on

Well, the other one is a bit unspecific. I certainly agree it is more a duplicate of this one then the other way around. But I do think it wants the same thing - use labels and flags in search (you list more things, that is true).
