Google banned Vivaldi from their platform?

@gwen-dragon
Please, consider creating a "frequent issues" topic with issues like this, and pin it to the top.I had the same problem a couple of months ago, and it drove me crazy. There are other questions popping up again and again in the troubleshoot or bug section of the forum.

@nekomajin There is already a FAQ topic, but nobody seems to care

I find the search feature of the forum engine quite troublesome to use, so it happens from time to time that I can't find what I am looking for. I see that your topic is pinned in the Troubleshoot section, but still, sometimes it's not clear whether a certain issue is a bug, a user error or a feature by design, so people won't look for the answer at the right place. -
@nekomajin
the F in FAQ is for frequent, so IMO it doesn't matter if there's already a FAQ thread pinned in the troubleshooting section or if there would be another pinned frequent issues thread. probably there could be a thread named click here for free cookies and nobody would care because in every case the user don't know, if it's a bug, user error or feature.
if (new) user do not search or look for existing threads (and there are numerous thread about his topic), pinned threads are needless -
@derday Cookies??
Where do I have to click to get my share of free cookies? -
@luetage
click me: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/15510/really-old-recipes
ups, sorry: click here for free cookies -
@potmeklecbohdan
maybe it should be pinnedMaybe you need to rename it.
‘FAQ’ -> F️Q!!!! READ BEFORE Posting@derDay I especially like the flavor “Google Advertising ID.” Also, if you don’t eat the ones called “Facebook Advertising ID,” you will hurt small businesses.

I agree. But since there are way too many topics, it's really hard to find the right one even with searching.If you take this example, how do you phrase this issue, if you only know that Google sites are not working? Too many results. People just give up, and open a new topic, because it's easier.
I think the solution would be to "teach" certain phrases to the search engine, so it gives back certain topics at the top of the result list. But I don't think it's a task that this forum engine is capable of.

search phrase : google sign
too many results
yes, too many results, because everyone opens a new thread and don't look at the existing ones

that's what the forum already does, see above.
to be fair, that's a problem, which mostly all forums around the internet have. it's not typically for vivaldi

@derday
The search engine only looks for certain words. The ideal solution would be the possibility, to manually assign a topic to a certain search phrase, so the engine gives it back at the top.This example proves you right, and I don't deny it either. But I faced a similar problem with a completely different issue, when I searched the forum, didn't find the answer, opened a new topic, then someone posted me a link of an existing topic, which was not on the first three pages of the search results.
Plus many users don't speak English very well, so finding the right search phrase can be an issue too.
