On to the next one – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2289.3
-
@gregor I'm not sure. Perhaps someone from the translation team can comment on that. It should be localised already - what do you see happening?
-
@lonm Dev tools was always only in english for me, I can't see any language settings there. Also in Firefox it looks very similar to Chromium's/Vivaldi's, but it's localized.
-
@lonm said in On to the next one – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2289.3:
- #overlay-scrollbars is back - but doesn't work for me
It's working as expected on my end, though I had to disable custom ones in Stylus . Nice to see them back
-
@gregor I see. I can confirm that. I guess language translation for developer tools isn't done yet. You could make a feature request.
-
@lonm But isn't it chromium feature, not vivaldi's?
-
@gregor Nope. Translation is Vivaldi. So, to a major degree, are developer tools, which are implemented as part of the Chromium UI, which Vivaldi does not use.

Minor issue
When I click
Customise
in Start Page context menu, it brings me toSettings | Start Page
instead ofSettings | Themes
where customisation settings sit now (it happens in a test profile too). Anyone else? -
@hlehyaric I think it was the case in the previous version as well.
But it's true that since the last major update, the customisation part seems to be split between different sections of the Settings.
-
@hlehyaric It is still correct. One customises the Start Page in Settings, Start Page. Settings, Themes is where you will set the Background image and colour, which happen to show on the Start Page.
-
@pesala Yes, you're right, but it's inconsistent (though, tbh, I don't think users change their background images everyday ).
-
[Themes] Blur is inconsistent between status bar and tabs placed at bottom (VB-78758)
[BUG] Not sure if this is because of that fix, but there is no longer a blur in the side panel overlay
-
@sjudenim Everything is OK here.
-
@ruarí Thanks for all the fixes. Yesterday I disabled a part of a CSS mod that took away the unread tabs background image (dog-eared corner) and was surprised that I had to add the “unread” class manually to see the effect. I hope this bug gets fixed soon, it apparently has to do with the setting “open new tabs in related tab stack”:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/60133/bug-two-level-tabs-do-not-have-unread-indicatorsAlso glad to see work on mail! Nice job.
-
@hlehyaric Maybe a better idea is to have a button at the bottom of startpage settings that says “customize background” and takes you to the correct place in settings. Or two separate context menu entries: “customize startpage” and “change window background”.
-
That's strange indeed. Here's mine ( no mods) with
Blur Enabled
Looking at it in DevTools I can see the value is set but it is only blurring the
switch
-
@sjudenim I noticed that the blur effect doesn't work when the panel is floating and works when the floating panel is disabled...
Floating panel :
Floating panel disabled :
-
@sjudenim Me, too!
It renders the panel almost unusable if you have set opacity to minimum 75%
-
Does anyone else have a crash after updating? At least one other person has reported this in another place.
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/60953/corrupted-extensions -
Crashed when there is a "line" in web panel.

tabbar under navbar
looked further at this and getting nowhere
i move the tabbar to the bottom in settings and then run some css to move it up under the navbar and delete the header - this worked fine up to this snapshot but now the tabbar stays firmly at the bottom
my best guess is that the call to the tabbar has changed so my css is being ignored but if thats it i cannot find what i should be using
any help much appreciated
my css
.toolbar.UrlBar { order: -3 } /* Remove header */ #header { min-height: 0; z-index: auto; } #tabs-tabbar-container.bottom { order: -1; }
