Close faster multiple tabs in a "tab stack"
-
Hello!
I would like to propose a small improvement to improve the user experience for people like me that are using the tab over to list a stack tabs.
Here my use case: I want to do some cleaning in my opened tabs in a stack tabs, and I want to close some tabs that are in a stack tab (but not all). Thanks to the preview, I directly know which tab I want to close.
Here a screenshot to see my interface, and help to understand:
Currently:
- I need to put the mouse over the stack tab to be cleaned, to display the tab list.
- Then, I have to click on the X button on the first tab that I want to close, to close it
- After clicking, the tab list disappeared (here what I want to change)
And then, I have to start again step 1 & 2 to close another tab from this stack.
What I would expect instead
- I need to put the mouse over the stack tab to be cleaned, to display the tab list.
- Then, I have to click on the X button on the first tab that I want to close, to close it
- After clicking, the tab list
disappearedstay opened, (just updated)
And then,I have to start again step 1 & 2I do only step 2.
So that, it will be really faster (2 less moves of mouse) for people like me
Thank you very much!
Please let me know if you need more details / if you have any questions,
Best regards,
Olivier

- Enable two-level tab stacks
- Ctrl/Shift-select a whole bunch of tabs
- Right-click and select "Close x tabs" or just use
Ctrl+W
- Problem solved
But yes the UX when closing multiple tabs when not using the two-level stacks could use some improvement. Like you say the list should not disappear when closing one tab.
In fact I would actually call this a bug instead and just make a report:

@pathduck indeed, using two-level tab stacks is a workaround, but it is a workaround that is too much expensive to enable/disable each time
I tried the two-level tab stacks, but I didn't like it I prefer this one that can display the preview in a tab stack very quickly.
Vivaldi is great with all its settings!Indeed, could be considered also as a bug. Do you know if I should also submit in it? (I want to make sure respecting the right process!)
Thanks!
