Hovering bookmark over bookmark folder should open it up
-
Hi guys
It's more of an improvement; which seems ergonomically logic to me
If I wan't to move a bookmark to a sub-folder : I need to put it in the folder, first.
Then move the bookmark from the folder, to a sub-folder.There's no expansion of folders at mouse hover.
Is it possible to be able to enable it ?
-- [bool] Expand bookmark folder on hover (Working recursively on sub-folders) -
@popof Open the folder first, then hover will expand the subfolders. Right-click on the subfolder to add the bookmark wherever you want.
If you want it at the top it needs dragging into position, unless you use the Bookmark Panel, in which case you can D&D the padlock directly to wherever you want the bookmark added. Folders open on hover when using this method.

Thanks or the [very] quick answer
I open it, but I need to select the bookmark to move it : Which closes the folder.

@popof You can add a new bookmark to any subfolder in this way. Organising of bookmarks is far easier in the Bookmark Panel.

I just tested, by selecting a bookmark : it's the same, it doesn't open the folder
You wan just "add" in a folder. You can't access access subfolders. -
I think, in life, in ways of ergonomy (I love Vivaldi ).
And the existing request (Hovering a bookmark over a bookmark folder should open it) makes exactly the point.Organising bookmarks via the Bookmark Panel requires to open every (sub-)folder to gain time.
...
It's a waste of time :You need to open the panel (keypress)
Open each sub-folder by hovering takes time : 1 second per {sub-]folder, maybe a little more (Or : you open each subfolder to "gain" time).Whilst, with the mouse (bookmark bar) :
Click (kept) on the bookmark, hover a folder ... should, : first, open the folder to access subfolders.
It opens subfolders, in the folder ... but not the folder. The panel has its use(s), I can't deny that
But managing bookmarks, isn't one of mine. -
-
By the way, manipulating a bookmark (elsewhere, than in the folder) : automatically closes the folder.
(disappearing delay : a few seconds, 2-3)
It doesn't stay open ... If you wan't to see the result, and re-manipulate; or, changed your mind ?
(I have a short-term memory problem due to an accident)An option ?
0 >X sec disappearing delay ? -
I just reorganized a bit my (sub-)folders : I had to open the (same) folder each time I moved something in it.
Can it just stay open ? -
I don't know why it's now in the "Done" category, when nothing was done.

@ap0st0l I do not know what you want but to tell us, but this is:

I moved it back for you. It may have been mis-moved when we were cleaning up requests recently. Apologies.
