Sent mail is not saved on server
-
I still have the problem I reported unfortunatly. If I send a message Vivaldi creates a "Sent Messages" folder in the Trash if the folder doesn't exist and stores the sent mails there.
Edit: I just removed the folder in the trash again, sent a mail to myself and the same thing happen, restarted, and now its fixed!
No idea how or what, but I'm happy

Any news on this?.
I'm seeing a sent message with a Trash icon next to it and it only behaves as trashed in the account's IMAP Sent folder (in Vivaldi) - but not in the Vivaldi Sent folder on the top.
By that I mean that the Trash button that toggles 'show/hide trashed', hides and reveals the message in the IMAP Sent folder, but not in the top collective Sent folder, where it is always visible (even though it has a Trash icon next to it).
In both folders the message is not listed as being in the 'Deleted Items' folder.See images below -

AFAICS this is a consequence of Vivaldi Mail's design decision to retain local copy of message that no longer exists on mail server. Can you confirm that is the case your email account's webmail service or use of another (IMAP) email client, like Thunderbird.

@yojimbo274064400 Sound weird for IMAP. That should happen only for POP accounts.

I think this is one of those design decision that will take time to get used to but will prove to be of benefit.
AFAIK this is not something that POP3 account's can do.

@yojimbo274064400 I just don't get it. I don't have "sent" mail marked or visible as "trash" anywhere. Five accounts, three diffrent kinds of IMAP protocols, and I cannot reproduce this.
-
@Ayespy, try the following to reproduce:
in Vivaldi Mail:
- send yourself an email
- confirm copy of email appears in account's Sent folder
in Thunderbird or other email client:
- permanently delete the email from Sent folder
in Vivaldi Mail:
- note deleted email only appears in account's Sent folder if
is select but is shown under All Messages > Sent regardless of
setting
AFAICS if Filters are automatically or manually rerun for All Messages > Sent then this issue resolves itself — from my limited testing it appears an automatic filter rerun only occurs if All Messages > Sent happens to have been selected when Vivaldi was last used and then restarted.

@yojimbo274064400 Well, you're right. It turns out that by performing a number of steps that I would never in a million years do on my own, it can be reproduced.
And this does appear to be a product of Vivaldi's anti-data-loss policies. You can't vanish an email in Vivaldi entirely, no matter what you do on other platforms or clients. You can only completely eliminate it in Vivaldi by using Vivaldi to do it.
