Download and Sidepanel persistent show on startup

  • Is this a bug or is it in my head? It seems that when download something and I forget to close it, the side-panel always shows up on restart. Do appreciate option to disable side-panel. Would like to propose an icon row as extra option to view it.

  • I agree, I've noticed a similar issue. I chose to hide the side Panel by default, I don't find it very useful. However, every time I do a download, the download manager appears, and then when I close the download manager, the Panel remains. Would be nice if it retained my setting to hide the side panel.

  • You can always turn off the "Open Download Panel Automatically" setting in Menu/Tools/Settings/Downloads.

My panel is never open unless I want it to be.

  • Okay, but how do you get notified when download is complete?

  • @danielson:

Okay, but how do you get notified when download is complete?

I watch the indicator crawl across the progress bar of the download icon in the panel bar and when it's fully white followed by turning back gray again, the download is done. If I walk away from the machine and come back to find the progress bar gray, I also know it's done. I don't keep a panel open, but I do keep the panel bar visible.

Thank you for pointing this out! I didn't notice that option. Fantastic!
