No notifications unless tab is active
-
I have this weird problem with Vivaldi in Fedora 33 wherein there will be no notifications until I open the tab of the website which has those notifications. For example, with the DuckGoGo timer. If I set the timer to about a minute, the notification sound will not ring even though a minute has already passed not unless I open the tab of the DuckDuckGo timer. This also happens to instant messaging websites like Discord and FB Messenger. There will only be a notification bell right when I click on the tab even though the I already received the messaged minutes ago.

@lewisbolaton I will test this later. There does seem to be a delay between the inbuilt timer sending a notification and playing a sound.

@lewisbolaton I have tested and do not have such problems. The built-in timer is delayed, but not the duckduckgo timer. (and both work, the built in timer just alerts 30 seconds late).

I wish you could suggest more workarounds. I still don't receive chat notifications and timer sounds despite enabling "Play All Audio" in Vivaldi's Settings.
I also though it has something to do with Chromium's Autoplay Policy but I already did the following policy changes to no avail:
- Set
AutoplayAllowed
totrue
- Include relevant websites in `AutoplayAllowlist
- Set

You need to set permissions if the site doesn't ask you for

@npro Thank you for this. I had changed the Sound permission from "Auto (default)" to "Allow" and it solved my issue.
