Microsoft to buy Discord!?

An article on the Reuters News page today says "Microsoft is in talks to buy Discord Inc."
The sources are anonymous and there are no comments from either party.
Wow... Could MS/Discord take on Twitch and / or Facebook??
As far as I'm concerned, they've got a lot of work to do should the deal go through. -
@greybeard For sure they 've got a lot of work to do by making all those trillions of chat logs of unsuspected people theirs in the battle between monopolists about who has the most profiles and the most influence on them....

Appearantly Discord ended the talks with Microsoft and rejected a $12 billion (!!!) offer. Discord is looking into getting listed. Though it seems like Twitter was interested too.

I use Lemmy, descentralized, fedarate social network (open source). currently the best I know and a great alternative for Discort, Reddit and others. Nice users, most tech geeks.
Maybe also a alternative for Vivaldi's own instance.
