Offer "blue pencil" editing capability (for author) for posts in edit mode...
-
If you're an old-fashioned editor/compositor, you'll want to use ancient tools as well as the latest and greatest.
What I call "blue pencil" should be readily understood:
Any corrections, amendations, deletions, clarifications, requirements of same; etc. should be made on a version-history type doc showing such -preferably, in light blue!- to simulate traditional editorial actions, emulate editorial interactions, and clarify the decision process via editorial comment.

@OakdaleFTL Are you requesting this feature for the forum or for Vivaldi Notes?
I assume that you are referring to Redline and Strikeout
In the forum, we already have
strikeout, and you could use bold instead of redline as colour is not supported. -
@Pesala Nope!
I'm afraid I wasn't clear... My day has just ended, so with apologies, I ask you to wait 'til tomorrow for a better explanation of what I mean.
Thanks for understanding: Yes, I was thinking of a kind of version control... I know what would suit my needs, as a writer; the sophistication of even most programming editor's facilities would be over-kill; but a simpler implementation of the few functions I cited originally (please note: I don't mean collaborative tools...) should suffice.
To do -- what? Why, to allow the writer to streamline and rationalize his pen-and-paper edits: strikeouts, re-wording, insertions; the sundry mess and marginalia that often litters my working pages!
In lieu of such, I find myself repeatedly editing the whole doc over and over, fine-tuning and honeing instead of producing more copy...What do you think? Anyone?

This is a very interesting idea. This makes writing notes and other things much more fun and easier.
