Learning new languages
-
Hello, I just recently got out of a job where I was required to learn a new language. Now that I'm out I want to continue learning other languages, Russian in particular, but do not know where to start on my own, in my job we had specialized teachers and tutors, but now that I'm on my own I do not have time to go to classes for it. Are there any good programs anyone recommends, or websites?

Not directly an answer to your question, but may be starting right here at vivaldi and participate in discussions in the Russian part of the forum could help too.
Additional benefit: Many of them speak English too so you can ask in English if you are not sure if it was right. I am sure they will help you.
This could go for many other online communities with a Russian part too.
I for example never formally learned French, but in the meantime I am able to understand almost everything written in French despite I have learned it just by reading in French forums (my active knowledge is still very limited). Learning by doing is IMHO the fastest way to learn a language as soon as you understand the basics. -
Thank you for the reply, I'll have to give that a try!
