Top Sites and Overheating
Hello, The last few months I had some disk overheating problems which I discovered were being caused by the TopSites file getting too big. After deleting the file, some months later I have the same problem because the file has grew again to be over 100MBs. Would you consider splitting it to multiple files so I don't have to delete the file every few months? It can't be only me..anyone else with the same issue? PS. When the file is over 100MBs, it causes a vivaldi-bin process to stay alive after exiting vivaldi. The temperatures drop really fast once I kill the process. Regards, Andreas
I thought that issue was fixed. Strange.
Which Vivaldi version?
As far as I know it wasn't really fixed..I just deleted my TopSites and that's what had fixed it. The version is 1.0.375.3. That's the latest isn't it?
375.3 is the latest.
Seems to be a regression.
What id displayed in Shell with iotop? Which process aats too much disk io?
Please report this issue as a bugreport at https://vivaldi.com/bugreport

Hi, checked with iotop and 375.3 and have ~0% disk write with several tabs open but I am not a "100 tabs open" user.
My Top Sites file is about 50 MB since weeks.
the lastest snapshot is 1.0.377.10: https://vivaldi.net/en-US/teamblog/82-snapshot-1-0-377-10-three-days-work-and-twenty-two-more-fixes
I have updated to the latest snapshot. My TopSites file is still pretty small to tell if there are any problems. We'll see
It happened again. My Top Sites file was 135MBs and Pepperflash seems to be causing it. I've attached an image from iotop. There was a ghost process running in System Monitor. After I deleted TopSites everything was back to normal
